AccountsHow long does it take to open an account?
It depends on the structure of the client and the checks the relevant provider needs to complete. Straightforward private applications can sometimes be completed quickly; company applications, and particularly more complex ownership structures, usually take longer. Your account manager can tell you what documents are needed and keep you updated.
AccountsWhat does it cost to open and maintain an account?
OCE does not typically charge an account opening fee. Any costs that apply to a specific service, provider or transaction should be confirmed with your account manager before you trade.
AccountsHow does OCE make money on FX?
Currency is bought jointly with the partner provider at wholesale rates and offered to clients at a quoted rate. The difference between those rates is how the service is paid for. Whether separate payment fees apply depends on the provider and payment, so ask for the full cost before you confirm a trade.
AccountsAre there minimum transaction volumes?
For private clients, a dealer can advise on any minimums. For businesses, savings are most often demonstrated on larger annual volumes, but growing businesses with smaller volumes are welcome to talk to the team.
AccountsCan I get a platform demo?
Yes. Speak with an account manager to arrange a demonstration of the relevant provider platform, by telephone on +44 20 7183 2026 or by email to info@oceancapitalexchange.com.
AccountsWhere do I log in?
Your login depends on which partner provider holds your account. The client login page lists each provider portal.
FX and paymentsHow does the process work?
Open a private or business account; book a trade online, by phone or by email with your dealer; pay the trade confirmation in the currency you are selling to the provider's account; then instruct the payment to your beneficiary. Delivery times depend on the currency, the destination, cut-off times and checks, so ask your dealer for the expected timing on a given payment.
FX and paymentsCan I lock in a rate now and settle later?
Yes, a forward contract lets you agree an exchange rate now for a future date. A deposit is often required, with the balance due by the end of the contract. Forwards remove uncertainty, but also mean you will not benefit if the rate later moves in your favour.
FX and paymentsCan I receive and hold multiple currencies?
Depending on the provider and your eligibility, multi-currency accounts may let you receive, hold and pay out in several currencies. Availability of local details varies by currency.
FX and paymentsHow can I estimate what I might save?
The FX savings calculator gives an illustrative estimate based on the figures you enter. It is not a quote; your account manager will provide live pricing.
